To get to San Babila from Hotel Atena, walk down Corso Monforte, for your first glimpse of showrooms and boutiques.
From here you are right near Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga and Via Manzoni for the toniest shopping. Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Corso Buenos Aires are definitely more informal for more affordable but just as chic purchases!
Between one window and the next you'll find yourself in Piazza Duomo, home to the monumental cathedral that is the symbol of Milan with its spectacular facade full of spires and incredible sculptures. From here we suggest you take the traditional tour of the artistic and cultural highlights of the center of Milan which should be visited at least once. So, stroll down Via Brera, with its eighteenth century buildings. The pinacoteca is at number 28, the most important gallery of Milan with masterpieces by Raphael, Piero della Francesca and many others. Leaving here head to Piazza della Scala to see the world renowned music temple, Teatro alla Scala, better known simply as ?La Scala?.
Opening Night is held each year in December and is one of the coolest events of Italian and Milanese high society life.
By car
From the freeways: whether you arrive from the A1 Milano - Napoli (Autostrada del Sole), A4 Torino - Trieste or A8 Milano - Varese (Milano Laghi), go through the toll booth and continue towards the center (centro) and take the Tangenziale Est. Take exit no. 6 "Forlanini", continue towards the center (Centro) until you reach Piazza Cinque Giornate, go right on Viale Premuda and after around 500 meters you reach Viale Piave.
By train
From Centrale Station:
The fastest route: go to the beginning of the tram 9 line (Piazza 4 Novembre) take it towards Porta Genova, after 8 stops get off at the Piazza del Tricolore stop, walk 100 meters to arrive at Viale Piave 5. Or take the MM3 Metro (yellow line) towards San Donato, get off at Repubblica, the go to the stop of line 30 (Aquileja), after around 4 minutes get off at the Piazza del Tricolore stop, walk 100 meters to arrive at Viale Piave 5 .
From Garibaldi station:
Take the railway link towards Dateo, Porta Venezia stop, then go to the Via Oberdan stop and take line 30 (Aquileia), after around 4 minutes get off at the Piazza del Tricolore stop, or take tram 9 (stazione Genova).
By plane
From Milan's Linate Airport:
Bus 73 until Piazza San Babila. Walk to Corso Monforte, after around 7 minutes you arrive in Piazza del Tricolore, turn left on Viale Piave and walk another 100 meters to get to number 5
From Milan's Malpensa Airport:
Take the Malpensa Express from the airport to Piazza Cadorna, then metro MM1 (red line) towards Sesto F.S., Porta Venezia stop. Follow the signs for the Viale Piave exit. After a 5 minute walk you reach number 5
To get to Fiera Campionaria:
MM1 (red) Porta Venezia stop, towards Molino Dorino, get off at Amendola Fiera.
